An advocacy project on public consultation and law on clean air in Karachi, it has two major parts:
I. COMMUNICATON public information briefings & campaign style social media, demanding clean air
II. LEGAL policy deliberations and legal avenues
We all share the air in Earth’s fragile atmosphere which have now been under attack by greenhouse gases for a century. The people of Karachi are 27 million with 13 million children who want clean air.
We cannot live without breathing air for a minute. If polluted our lives are cut short, we fall ill more often, our chests collapse. Breathing clean air is an intimate experience for all species. It is a basic requirement for a healthy life. The first to suffer are babies, asthmatics, the sick and the elderly.
Persuading politicians to implement citizen and environment friendly decarbonization policies, will focus on eliminating vehicle emissions, fines and taxes to cut air pollution, promoting green urban transport, green buildings in construction, eliminating use of coal and hydrocarbon fossil fuels for energy, recycling and ending the practice of trash being put on fire.
